Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

The short version

This policy covers the PixelMatch Chrome extension (“the extension”) and this website. “PixelMatch”, “we” and “us” mean the team that makes them.

1. What the extension stores, and where

Everything the extension needs to work is stored by Chrome on your own computer. None of it is sent to us.

DataWhere it's keptWhy
Mockup images you add (by file, paste or Figma import), with their names and sizes Chrome's local extension storage on your computer To show them as an overlay
Overlay and grid settings (opacity, position, blend mode, lock, grid layout), saved per website address, e.g. example.com, plus any grid presets you save Chrome's local extension storage So each site remembers its own overlay
Your Figma personal access token, if you enter one Chrome's local extension storage To import Figma frames you ask for
Match check results (Pro): the score, the areas that differ, and short labels naming those page elements, e.g. h1 "Pricing" Chrome's local extension storage To show the results in the extension. Removed when you clear them, move the mockup, or reload the page
Your license key and its status (Pro or free, number of activations used, when it was last checked) Chrome's synced extension storage To keep Pro unlocked

If you have Chrome Sync turned on, Google syncs the license information in the last row between your own Chrome browsers, under Google's privacy policy. Mockups, settings and your Figma token are never synced.

What the extension does not do

2. When the extension connects to the internet

Lemon Squeezy: license checks

When you activate a license key, the extension sends that key to Lemon Squeezy's license service (api.lemonsqueezy.com), along with the fixed label “PixelMatch Extension” and, later, the activation ID Lemon Squeezy gave it. This happens when you click Activate, when it re-checks an active license (at most once every 24 hours), and when you deactivate. Nothing else is sent: no mockups, settings, or website addresses. Like any web service, Lemon Squeezy also sees your IP address when your browser connects.

Figma: only when you import a frame

If you use Figma import (a Pro feature), the extension sends your Figma token and the file and frame IDs from the link you pasted to Figma's API (api.figma.com), then downloads the rendered image from Figma. This happens only when you click “Import frame”. See Figma's privacy policy.

3. Purchases

PixelMatch Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects the details needed to take payment and handle tax, such as your name, email address, billing country and payment method, under its own privacy policy. We can see your order details (name, email, country, what you bought and your license key) so we can support you and handle refunds. We never receive your full card or bank details.

4. This website

This site is a set of static pages hosted by Vercel. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like any web host, Vercel may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to run and protect the service.

5. How we use data

We use order details only to provide the product, deliver and support your license, process refunds, and meet legal and tax obligations. We don't sell, rent or share your data for advertising, and we don't use it to build profiles. Data stored by the extension is used only to provide its features, and we never receive it.

6. How long data is kept

7. Your choices and rights

You control everything the extension stores: delete mockups inside the extension, deactivate your license from its License section, or uninstall it to remove all of its data. For your order data, you can ask us to access, correct or delete it (subject to the legal record-keeping requirements above) by emailing the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law, such as the GDPR, and you can complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Children

PixelMatch is a tool for web developers and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what data the extension handles, we'll say so in the extension's release notes.
